Who is Religious here?

Religion is the most corrupted word in the English dictionary. I am sorry to say this thing but it is truth. When we ask most of the people that are you religious? Then they reply mostly yes because they believe in God and they go to church, temple or mosque. This is the common reply heard from the majority and it is a stupid reply.

The true meaning of being religious is to have feeling of gratitude towards the whole existence but we all are so unhappy, unsatisfied and ungrateful people in our life. We are always trying to prove ourselves as if we are competitors here. We do not have any feeling of contentment with in ourselves. The whole life is spent in such a hurry and competition and we call ourselves religious. We people are full of jealousy and envy. Are we really religious? Have you ever wondered that if something ever bad happened to you? How do you react to that situation? You feel stuck in the situation and feel like dying in such a situation. Is this a true religious attitude? A true religious attitude is to remain thankful to God or the whole existence for whatever has happened to you.

Once, Osho Rajneesh told an old anecdote. There was a man who was very poor. He hardly could manage two meals in a day. Once, a wind storm hit the village that took roof of his small hut. Now, how you would have reacted in this situation. You would have cried and felt worse. You would probably curse God and you would feel the most unlucky person in this situation but he remained quiet and full of gratitude. He thought that he still has four walls of his hut standing. Who managed to keep them standing in such a storm. It must be because of God who did this for me. Now, I would call this a true religious attitude. Now, when you are going to tell anybody that you are religious then think twice before saying that. Actually, you should not say it at all. It would be a true lie if you do say.

We do not understand the Science of religion at all and we think that we are so good in that. People need to understand more about religion and it would be better to drop all the stupid practices done for the sake of religion. True religion arises from with in and you become so full of love, compassion and gratitude that nothing can make you feel bad.

This life is a gift to you and whatever happens to you is also the part of this whole existence. Who are you here to complain? Who are you here to prove anything and to whom are you complaining? Think about the things and then realize that you have come empty handed and will leave this world empty handed.
