Osho Rajneesh: Hindi to English Translation Youtube Video

I am going to translate here another youtube video from Hindi to English. The video is not itself a complete discourse but the lines being said are precious.



Title: What is life?

[0:00-1:16] Regarding life, we have agreed what others say. Others say that this is life. Doing struggle, earning money , building big houses, travelling from the earth to moon and die. These are the things said by people. Our same behavior since centuries, intelligent people, politicians and mob gathered around have been saying this thing since centuries. And in this mob`s pressure, every man believes that this is life but I want to say that this is not a life at all. It is even worst than getting die. It has no relation with life at all. Life is totally a different matter. This is not life but it is just a living. It is just earning a living. This living is valid only if one is searching for life otherwise earning a living is worthless, it has no significance then. If, a seed has no capability to turn into a flower then it is of no use to add water and fertilizer to it.

[1:16-2:27] We add water and fertilizer so that a flower can blossom but we keep adding water and fertilizer. It seems like a plant has a single aim to get water and fertilizer. Flower does not blossom at all and fragrance does not mix with air. What is this life? One question is necessary to come up. Is this a life? It is very difficult to ask this question. It is easy to ask from others because people have ready made answers available. It is difficult to ask from ourselves because here we do not have ready made answers. Asking question from ourselves means passing through a long and tedious journey but we have bounded answers for the most significant questions of life.

[2:27-3:33] Everything has been taught to us. We have all cultivated answers and whenever life arises a question, we answer it suddenly or ask somebody to answer. The answer we give, has been acquired from somebody. This answer has been fed to us or has been put in our brain since our childhood. If, anybody says that this is not a life but a life of a soul is the real life then it is possible that such a person says so after he has read from a book or have heard it from his teacher. There are ninety nine chances out of hundred that this person is saying so after hearing it from some somebody. If, it has been said after hearing from somebody then there is no significance of this thing. Who knows that soul exist or not? You have to know yourself. Answers from others would not work. Who can say that everything do not die with the body. The one who knows can be the one who can say but what is the use of his saying for the others.

[3:33-5:24] The other's saying is not more than a vibrating sound from the sky. Somebody says that soul exist or I say that the soul exist but what is the use of this thing to you. There is no meaning at all. It is just like words vibrate and die. we remain a body after hearing these words, we do not become a soul. It is possible that you learn this word and when life asks a question then you reply that I am soul and immortal. This all will be non sense. This has to be known and this knowing will happen when this question enters in our life like a sharp arrow and it starts asking to our each part who am I? why am I here? We never asked it. If, we are thirsty then we ask with a force for water. We did not even ask with that much force "where is life"? People come to me and tell me that they want to search God. They do not even have that much thirst as they can have for water. They ask that where is enlightenment and they ask like somebody will lift them and make them reach there. Who can make others reach? Is God sitting somewhere like you go and get it or you can get him just by worshiping and reading prayers in a temple. If, he is then he is inside you. If, there is any truth available then it is present with you. You have to found it and this finding is tedious.
