Osho Rajneesh Hidden Mysteries "The Secret of Sounds"

Osho Rajneesh covered about the science of sound in the book "Hidden Mysteries". I will cover here two or three examples about the science of Sound that were mentioned in the book Hidden Mysteries by Osho Rajneesh.

At first just consider example of Vedas. Four famous Vedas of Hindus were not present in any written form. A teacher would chant mantras in the ear of a disciple and disciple would learn all the things and material present in the four Vedas. It is not much important here what the original words are but phonetics connected with the word are more important. The four Vedas were not written because experts thought that its significance would be lost. When we write a particular thing, the phonetics associated with the word are going to be altered when the phonetics play an important role. Readers start reading written material in their own ways and with their own accents.

Osho Rajneesh also elaborated the significance of sound in Mantra "Aum Mani Padme Hum". The mantra itself has no meaning but its reciting and proper phonetics activate energy chakras. I also remember one of the discourses of Osho Rajneesh when he was explaining impact of manta "Aum Mani Padme Hum" on our body. When we say "Aum", it creates vibration around our throat whereas Mani moves down and Padme reaches down till our belly. The impact of "Hum" can be felt down at our sex centre.

One of the most interesting thing that I read was the significance of bell which we see outside the Hindu temples. It has no direct relation with worshipping of idols but it has connection with mind alertness and ceasing of thoughts. Whenever someone rings the bell, it disturbs your thought process while you are sitting in the temple and makes you alert. All the divinity is attached with the ceasing of thoughts. Once, you have no thoughts, divine starts entering you.

There are also number of other examples covered by Osho Rajneesh in the book "Hidden Mysteries" related to science of sound. I wrote about those which I found more interesting. I will coming up with more information and explanation about this book.

Osho Rajneesh Hidden Mysteries "The Secret of Shapes"

The book "Hidden Mysteries" is based on the live Hindi talks given by Osho Rajneesh in 1971. The talks were totally about different mysteries present in the world. In these talks, Osho Rajneesh explained why different things which were built in the medieval period of time were important then. We have lost meaning of those things. We are just carrying those things for no reason at present but those things were very significant at some point of time. Even, if we can understand meaning of those things now, we can again utilize them for our benefits and prosperity.

In the talks, Osho Rajneesh discussed about the significance of shapes of temples. Many temples that we see today were built dome shaped. If, we chant anything under the sky. The voice of ourselves is not going to rebound at us. Dome shaped temples create echo of sound. Domes are just prototypes of sky. The only difference is that we cannot feel echo of sound sitting under the sky. In some temples, special stones were used which could increase the echo of sound. Echo of sound coming back to us from the dome shaped temples creates a circle and this circle helps in soothing you. This soothing further helps in soothing your thought process. Once, all your thoughts cease, divine starts entering within you.

We can also see that many medieval temples built around us have very small doors and they are usually without windows. It is to prevent obstruction in the circle of sound which is formed during chanting and echoing. We have started modernizing the temples with big doors and multiple windows. Osho says that these days we are just making temples like ordinary houses instead of sophisticated structures which are divine.
